Punta Palenque is a berth facility consisting only of a single buoy mooring (SBM) system , which is located southwest of Santo Domingo. This berth facility handles the discharge of crude oil for the local refinery.

ANCHORAGE:

Deep water anchorage available about 2-5 miles west of the SBM system.

PILOTAGE:

Pilot is compulsory and he can be contacted by radio channel 16. Pilot boards the vessel about 1.5 mile west of the SBM from a tug with a black hull and white superstructure.

RESTRICTIONS:

Navigation 24 hours, no berthing under extreme weather condition if winds over 35 knots.
